family-photo-053114-finalThe Plymouth County Probate and Family Courts provide essential services to Plymouth County families during times of great uncertainty.  As your next Register of Probate, I will work on your behalf to make sure you receive the highest level of service when you deal with the Probate and Family Courts.  The next Register of Probate needs to be someone with a strong legal education and experience, a proven leader who is passionate about equal access to justice and understands the challenges Plymouth County families are facing.  I ask for your support to become the next Register of Probate.

As a graduate of Boston College Law School and The College of the Holy Cross, I received a world class legal education and dedicated myself to using the law to help others.  In my ten year career as an Assistant District Attorney, I handled thousands of legal cases and fought for families plagued by domestic violence and drug addiction.

As a Selectman in the town of Marshfield, I instituted a first of its kind drug drop off system that has taken tens of thousands of unwanted prescription drugs out of the hands of young people who might otherwise become addicted to those pills.  When The Federal Emergency Management Agency proposed over reaching new flood maps and flood insurance rates that could bankrupt Plymouth County families, we challenged their scientific method. Our appeal became the basis for FEMA’s decision to place a moratorium on those new maps for all Plymouth County communities, saving families from bank breaking increases in flood insurance.

While a Marshfield School Committee member, I advocated for the first full day Kindergarten program to exist in our community. I worked with Marshfield parents to create a not for profit, Marshfield Kids at Play, to build a new central playground for our community.  In my spare time I coach the Marshfield High School Mock Trial team which finishes annually as one of the best mock trial teams in the Commonwealth and competes nationally.

As your next Register of Probate I will improve services at the Registry by focusing resources on intensive customer service, especially at the front counter of our Brockton and Plymouth offices, supporting and expanding the attorney of the day program to allow more pro se litigants (people representing themselves) the opportunity to ask questions of attorneys free of charge and partnering with Domestic Violence organizations, local law schools and law enforcement agencies to better coordinate services for victims of abuse.

With your help, we can make our Probate and Family Courts highly efficient in processing legal documents and provide services for families who are looking for help.  Please join me as I seek to become the next Plymouth County Register of Probate and we will make a difference for families in need.
